DDR4 32GB kit (alternatively AM4 motherboard + 16GB RAM)

Many are aware that DRAM prices have shot through the roof in recent weeks. There has been speculation that it's only going to get worse in 2026. If you need some DDR4 for desktops, I stumbled upon the following option.

KingSpec 2x16GB kit $85.99

Alternatively, some people might still be interested in entry-level AM4 builds.

At the moment, that's serious bang for buck. A 5700X can drive the GPUs best paired with a build like this.

With DRAM prices heading north, I pulled the trigger on the KingSpec 32GB kit. Don't need it, BUT there is a nifty 50% cash back offer that works well for these two items.
Basically Perplexity AI will give you an enticement to use their new shopping service. Max transaction is $100.

I wasn't able to coax the agent into selling me the red SKU, so I ordered the black one with some terrible reviews. Unfortunately 30 day returns (not extended holiday returns) so I better find out right away if I want to keep it.

Info here on how to take advantage. (Perplexity Pro can be had for free from Samsung Galaxy/TV or PayPal.)

I just checked my Newegg account, and this agentic order isn't listed there. That's kinda annoying.

Earlier this year I got a 5700X with 32GB of Gskil 3600mhz memory for $145. I thought I paid too much but liked that it came with 3600mhz instead of 3200mhz. I got a MSI B550 Gaming Plus V1 motherboard for $70 a few months ago. Sent the 32GB to a 5600 build and kept my 32GB E-die kit in the B550. I still have a good amount of DDR4 memory in the garage. My little PC store in the garage has been largely liquidated. I am out of AIO coolers and new cases.

I would wait until the memory bubble bursts. These memory makers have been fined billions over the years for price fixing.
